
Attached are two chapters from Peter Ackroyd’s wonderful little book: “A Christmas Carol & The Chimes” and “The Cricket on the Hearth, The Battle of Life & The Haunter Man and the Ghost’s Bargain”. Our schedule has us reading “Pictures from Italy” between “The Cricket on the Hearth” and “The Battle of Life”, and “The Haunter Man” after we read “Dombey & Son”. Ackroyd’s comments regarding “Pictures from Italy” is included in his chapter on “American Notes” and can be found in my post of 10/18/22. I will post Ackroyd’s “D&S” comments in a separate post after our February break.
